Paintball is classified as one of the safest extreme sports out there where players attempt to eliminate one another with a small projectile called a paintball, shot out of an airpower marker running off of either CO2 or Compressed air(HPA).
Basics
The #1 most asked question if your just starting out to play paintball is "Does it hurt"?
Yes paintball does hurt but not in the kind of way you think, it feels like a little pinch or a slap. If you have ever been whipped with a towel or shirt, we'll it hurts way less than that. To tell you the truth paintball doesn't really hurt at all. Many kids play so if there cool with it i guess you should be to.
Ok Lets get started (First Timers)
1. If its your first time playing don't go out and buy all the equipment and just go 1 time, first find the field closest to you and call them for more information.
2. Don't be scared of getting shot in the face or eyes because if the rules are followed you won't and plus you will be wearing a face mask.
3. Paintball is a pricey sport so consider the cost of going out 1 time.
Cost( Rough estimate)
Entrance-$30
Gun- $10-15
Paint-$30-60 (2000 rounds)
Air-$10(compressed or HPA)
So as you can see this is just for 1 person and can be a bit pricey but if you really start to get into the sport it'll get a lot cheaper.
Types of Gameplay
Ok theres two different types of Paintball, theres woodsball/scenerio and then theres speedball.
1.Woodsball/Scenerio is where your on a field thats a couple of acres or even a mile. This is how paintball first originated so if you new try to give this is a shot. You never know if you will like it unless you try.
2. Speedball is basically tournament paintball, think of it as scenerio but in a restricted space with inflateable bunkers. Whenever you hear of professional paintball this is what there talking about so give it a try. Once you start your adrenaline will reach its peak.
Ok lets roll (Scenerio)
Now that your all set up now you get to go and head out onto the field. Don't worry usually the paintball park will split up Beginners and Advance players so that new players can be introduced into the sport. Now if they don't, don't be scared they'll slip up the teams so everyone has an equal chance of winning.
When the game starts first see where all the local players are going, you can tell if their local by their breakout, meaning if they just start to run off to a particular spot they know on the field well, then their local, thats how i see it. Don't follow right behind them but a good 10-20 feet or so. Don't go trigger happy and shoot whenever you see something move, make your shots count and when you see someone take that shot and don't be scared, the worst that can happen is for you to get shot.
This is basically it an the only way to really know what your getting into is just to go out and play.
